Xiamoi mi3 Review

Competition is racing at a boom when it comes to market of smart phones. Now these days’ new companies are also taking challenges and entering into the world of Smartphone. After the success of MOTO E, ASUS launched its Smartphone and now it’s time for Xiaomi to show their Smartphone to the world.

Yes, this phone is from Chinese family but they are far better and upgraded version of the previously launched china phones in India. Xiaomi Mi3 is different and have almost all the features what other competitors offer at same price range.

Is it Eye Catchy?

Look of Xiaomi is different as compared to its competitors such as Nokia and Samsung. It has sleek design along with the back and top edges are completely flat. The display and the screen size give it a classic and stylish look. First impression may put in a thought that this is plastic body but no, it has magnesium on its outer layer. To summarize the body look Mi3 has magnesium-aluminium alloy along with three layers of graphite on top. When it comes to comparison of aluminium and magnesium, magnesium is lighter and stronger then aluminium that’s why many phone manufacturers tend to aluminium. The buttons gives a high quality feel with a kind of crisp action in it. For easy access and to stand out different they are kept on side rather than on the top.

For the rough users yes it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on its front side.

Time for NUTS & BOLTS!!

Xiaomi mi3 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Soc with four Krait 400 CPU cores which run at a speed of 2.3Ghz 330 GPU of Adreno. About the screen size it is 5-inch with full HD view of 1080 X 1920 pixels. Camera is of 13 Mp and yes it has dual LED flash.  2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage place. It has 3050 MAH battery life along with NFC, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 with GPS.

Android 4.X ??

The most suspicious question which OS does it support, is it pure Android or what? Well it runs on Android 4.3 which is not latest OS of Android but the twist is it also has highly customized interface that gives a tough competition to other smart phones. Mi market is the new name of Google Play Store, Hangouts is updated with Mi talk, Google is no more your default search engine Weibo is you search engine. Though you selected English as your keyboard you may get Chinese word in an auto correct option.

The interface is updated and yes it is fun when interacting with Xiaomi mi3. Do not consider this as typical Android phone because this might just disappoint you. It has lot of customisation for the user like user can chose what notification colour light is to be shown, battery icon place and other many customization options available there in it.

Performance

It has impressive configuration of nuts & bolts along with lot of customization option, so now coming to performance of games, apps. As it has 2GB of RAM the performance delivered is smooth and yet upto the expectation of the user. With Sanpdragon processor all the high end apps and games were tested to the end to see the performance and yes Mi3 was on its commitment of delivering the true performance. Adreno 330 GPU helps Mi3 to get the graphical effect and games like Dead Trigger -2 and other 3D games gave a remarkable performance.  The screen size is perfect for any of the game to play.

Prons:
==>  Customization like never before
==> Battery life excellent
==>  HD screen at reasonable rate
==>  13MP camera along 2MP selfie

Cons:
==> No Expandable Memory
==> No 4G

All The Best for the Mi3 users. Let us know how was your experience with Mi3.

MOTO E REVIEW

MOTO G is best selling handset ever in the market as of now. After the success of MOTO G Company has lunched MOTO X and now one more version with a low cost budget and providing with latest features MOTO E. This device is not replacing MOTO G but it is an entry in low cost model in order to compete rivals such as Nokia Lumia series and Samsung.

MOTO E REVIEW

NUTS & BOLTS:

It has a 4.3 inch display and dual-core processor of 1.2 GHZ, RAM of 1GB and internal memory of 4GB extended up to 32 GB. It has 5MP Rear camera and a powerful battery life with 1980mAh battery.

Screen is showing a sharp display with 540 X 960 resolutions and a 256ppi density. The text and images gives vivid rich experience to user. 5 MOTO E prices is equal to one Samsung Galaxy S5.

Screen:

Coming on the screen it has low price but the screen has been covered with latest Gorilla Glass 3, giving a tough layer guard on the front-end of phone. For the trendy people out there they can match their attire colors with back panel of MOTO E.

It also has anti-smudge coating over the glass. Design is similar to that of MOTO G but with the plastic body this has made an entry in the market.

Swap the rear shells to get color match

Five different colors are available for the back flip. Back flip has rubberized bumper that fits on the side of the phone and protect the rear end.

Height & Weight

Your palm can comfortably hold the MOTO E device and the rear of this device is in curved shape.  It weights around 142g.On the side it measures 12.3mm as compared to MOTO G 11.6mm and Lumia 520 9.9mm.  It has 4.3 inch display healthy enough to give user a bright and sharp experience and design splendid to fit your palm.
Frame size of 124.8 X 64.8 mm has made a brilliant re-organization of buttons. On the right hand side there is button of power/lock and volume key. On the top headphone jack can be found and on the opposite hand micro USB.

Network:

Yes, with the budget low this device has 3G, GPS, and latest Bluetooth 4.0 and yes also Wi-Fi. The web browsing proved to be suave.

 Alert Feature:

Amazing new and innovative alert feature is being added into this device. A Motorola alert allows this device to automatically send notification to friends and family of your location. There is no need to add any third party app.

Even for the meeting or get together you can send your contact location with friends. With the emergency mode available with this you can quickly sound an alarm or with auto dial a pre-determined number.

Camera:

It has a 5.0 MP camera but no flash. Video recording is possible of format FVWGA and no HD. Camera interface is similar to that of MOTO G. For video calling there is no front facing camera. With a low budget smartphone in this range 5.0 MP is what you can expect the best, but for the selfie lovers this is thumbs down.

Final Words:

MOTO E is perfect smartphone that falls in range of less than 10k model. The performance of rear camera is still unknown but with 1GB of RAM we can expect the performance of this device at superior level.
 Other rivals such as Samsung and Nokia Lumia devices have less than 1 GB RAM while MOTO E gives 1GB RAM at a budget price. At the end MOTO E is a descent phone with latest Android OS and with dual sim-functionality.

KitKat after 6 Months

Android KitKat

on less than 10% devices

Kitkat has not much steady growth in market and after it release from past 6 months, there are only 10% of device that have OS version of KitKat.  KitKat was release last October and currently it’s running on only 8.5% of Android devices according to Google’s most recent number.

Android Kitkat version
Nexus 5

During last week of April the data was collected and data is overall based on Android devices running version 2.2 or higher. KitKat seems to grow but on a snail pace. As per reports in the month of January only 1.4% of Android devices were running KitKat.

Numbers in the above data shows Google is still striving for Android fragmentation.

Android Kitkat Status
Data till now

In 2012 jelly bean was released, as of now there are 61% of Android devices that are running OS version of jelly bean.  Ginger bread more than 3 years old still exists in more then 15% of Android devices. Coming to competitor Apple has released IOS 7 in September 2013 and it has overall 80% device using it.

Apple pushes it user to make an update of OS irrespective of their device or carrier, where as Google updates are dependent on manufacturers, so user have to be dependent on the manufacturer for the version of Android.

Edge to Edge display in Iphone 6

This September we can hope to welcome Apple’s next iPhone. Past posts based on leaks and rumors over the iPhone 6 agreed on one thing .i.e. Apple’s IPhone 6 would have 4.7 inch display. We have covered the news on leaked images of iPhone 6 and also issues concerned with its battery size. Production of iPhone 6 was also in rumored and covered by techocorner.

previous post on Screen Size: Iphone 6 screen size updates

Iphone 6Apple’s next

iPhone 6

is termed to be stunning visual wrapper.

Concept of new iPhone 6 is having edge-to-edge display and having minimal side left. This is considered as one of the main reason the next IPhone is not visible in huge size then the current iPhone 5S. The edge-to-edge display allows space for the bigger screen and physical body to be slightly larger. The images also shows that the new IPhone has curved edges and brighter and sharper display. From the picture we can make out that IPhone 6 is almost 20% thinner then the previous IPhone 5S.  No two tone design exits in the back of the IPhone and plastic cap on the top and bottom is no more into existence. The below are the images of IPhone 6, would you go for it?

Top 10 Smart phones of 2014

2014 is turning out to be a stellar year for the prospective smartphone user, as the HTC One (M8) is joined by the Samsung Galaxy S5 in our 'best smartphone' list. Read more to find out.

HTC One M8

HTC One takes the best of that phone and yet still re-invents things enough to make it a massive recommendation over the old model. It's got great specs, a splendid design and some clever hardware innovation where the competition is relying on software to do the same thing. Gaming, movies, browsing photography all work really sound, we have to wait up till the iPhone 6 or LG G3 appear later in the year

 Samsung  Galaxy S5

There was a lot of hype around the new Galaxy; it's by far the best phone Samsung has ever produced, with a blazing fast core processor, a strong result in the benchmarks and a larger 5.1-inch screen. Samsung has also dropped the 'innovation' of the air gestures from last year and improved the hardware with a enhanced camera, fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor too.

 LG G2

The South Korean firm: it's got a really good screen, quality camera, the best audio pumping out from its speakers and headphone jack... the list goes on. The only things which unlikable are the cluttered UI and the casing of plastic, that makes the premium feel of phone down, particularly when likened to the handset that sits one place.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

With a 4.3-inch screen it's one of the most easy to use handset, upcoming in iPhone 5s device is also one of them in the hand, but it does it with a much lower cost and a great battery life to boot. It's not got the same screen sharpness as some of the others on list here, and camera seems to throw noise now and then, but these can be termed definitely as negligible cramp.

Google Nexus 5

We're glad to put this smartphone higher up in the places, as it's one of the inexpensive out there in terms of bucks. It is a prodigious phone that knockouts the results well - it has shortages of something in terms of innovation, but that cannot be termed a problem for those that want to be able to run all manner of apps and games at a decent price. It doesn't come in at the same price as previous Nexii, but it's still a worthy phone.

 iPhone 5S

The iOS 7 update is one that we sorely needed and does bring a lot more power and control. We really like TouchID, the 64-bit processor might be a little useless now but definitely brings a touch more close to things, and the M7 chip gives developers something to play with in terms of fitness, as per the likes of FitBit taking advantage already. iOS 7 is the updates but does a lot to help keep Apple current at the sharp end of the market.

 HTC One

The supreme aluminium chassis, the Full HD screen and the simplified version of Sense 5.0 sitting now on top of Android but again, only if price is your main driver and you simply must have a One. With power, poise and beauty all combined in this innovative phone, HTC has proved that it can be more than still cut it with the big boys when it comes to bringing out a lust-worthy flagship smartphone - and the One deserves to stay in the top ten.

MOTO G

Motorola must have cut some corners to get the price of the Moto G so near to the ground, and the camera is one area which has seen the compromise, so here's the upshot: Motorola is back folks, its official. It may not be the return we would have predicted - there's no flagship phone stuffed full of the latest tech - but arguably what the now Google-owned firm has done is even better.

Samsung Galaxy S4

The powerful camera, a brilliant screen, a long-lasting battery or just a fluid    experience, there's a lot you could want in a smartphone right here. It's just a shame that   the perceived 'innovation' doesn't really add anything: motion gestures along with smart scroll and it’s supplementary non-contact bedfellows didn't take smartphones to the succeeding level, which is what we looked-for in the face of UltraPixel in addition with BoomSound. Making no error though: you'll  love the Samsung Galaxy S4 if you choose to go for it, as it's a decent phone with some      really cutting-edge features - but remember there's something better thanks to the Galaxy S5.

  HTC One Mini

The HTC One was leading  in the market last year, staying at the top of the charts for approximately 10 months, looking off the defy from the likes of Nokia, Sony, LG and Samsung (namely the Galaxy S4) - showing the smartphone market still has a fair few players. We really like the aluminium shell and also the UltraPixel camera and BoomSound on board, plus one can get to play with the latest version of Android as well as all the cool apps like the Music Player, which shows the lyrics to songs as they're playing. In short, it's a cheaper version of the larger phone that scales down the processor and less in price.
