It’s been 4 months that Apple launched IOS 8 and recently few days back latest update of IOS 8 was IOS 8.1.3 which has some minor fixes and little additional features for the users. You might be using IOS 8 but this below information would help you to make the most excellent use of IOS 8. So, how to make most of IOS 8

BE FAMALIAR WITH YOUR BATTERY

In IOS 8 user can see what percentage of battery is being used by which app. The amount of battery depends on which app you largely use it. Previously it was just showing percentage but now it shows accurate percentage along with the app. 

In my case Facebook and Whatsapp are on top as being addicted to social media. If you find any apps which is shown you can double tap on the home button and close the apps.

Where is it?

Settings è General è Usage è you would see option Button usage.  Tap on it so you would see list of apps under it. 

HANDS-FREE SIRI:

Hold down home button so that Apple’s built-in voice assistant, Siri would be at your service.

Where is it?

Settings è General è Siri è Tap to ON it. Now you can say “Hey Siri” and can ask your questions. So you can do is set your reminder or alarm or search anything on internet. If you are driving you can use this service to make a call.

What can you do more with SIRI?

CATCH THE PLAYED SONG

It has integrated with music-reorganization popular service such as Shazam. It can listen to the playing music and identify which song is being played. To find out the name of the current song played as Siri “What’s Playing”? Siri would listen to music for a while and it would give the name of the song in result along with artist and also a link from iTunes.

ARE YOU SHOPPOHOLIC?

Then Safari has reduced one step while shopping. If you are shopping from safari browser, while you are on payment screen and when it comes to entering credit card info you have option of scan credit card in the safari browser. Don’t worry as camera would not click the picture it would just scan credit card info along with expiration date. Only thing you need to enter is the security code.

DIFFERENT KEYBORAD

With the help of IOS 8 users can get a personalized and customized keyboard.  The in-built future of keyboard is ok as we all have many issues with the auto correct feature.  One of popular app(Which is not free) Swype allows user to type while dragging your finger across the keyboard.

Another app is Swiftkey this is app which helps you in changing look of keyboard form black and white to something trendy as per your personality.

STYLISH CAMERA

In IOS 8 there are advance features of camera also along with one vide feature of time-lapse. In camera feature it has now a self time of 3seconds and 10seconds so for the selfie lover you can make the best out of it. User can now also control the exposure of picture, tap on screen to focus there would be a yellow box along with a line, just move line up to increase the exposure down to decrease it.

Time-lapse video to get this swipe to last in camera app and on right side this is the end option. Keep your hand steady and record the video, when you play you would see the feature of this option.

My tip to get better time-lapse video is to keep your phone on a stable ground and use headphones to start and stop the recording of video.

You must be using IOS 8 since time it has launched but after going through this, I am sure you would make most of it.

Its time to Tweet in group and Shoot out videos

After whatsapp it’s twitter time to tweet on expanding features in its app. You can send group message and 30 second video with this new updated feature. With these new features tweeters would be more active in tweeting out their videos and send group tweets frequently.  Engineers have focused to make it easy for the people to shoot and share video.  

What exactly are those new features? How to use them?

Group Chat

It does not matter whether you follow people or not but yes you would be updated when you are being added into a group. It would allow multiple users to chat privately in a chat room. Number of users as now is limited upto 20 only, well we can expect it be increased in upcoming update.

Shoot and Share 30 second video

We can say you have 30 seconds to fame, this feature is most important in order to broadcast any news or any incident. Mainly this would be a additional advantage to journalist and advertisers to advertise their brands in less cost to a mass all over world.

Question arise that what about Vine(a video sharing app)?

It is twitter owned video service that allows user to record a six second clip. Twitter’s Jinen Kamdar added words over justifying the use of both things. Vine was purely for entertainment purpose while twitter feature is stronger and healthy as compared to that of vine.

Soon this feature would be rolled out into market and you can shoot out videos and share group messages.

IOS 8 on Iphone 5S:News Leaked

As Apple Inc. annual developer quickly approaching, there is little doubt that there are some devices which are running on IOS 8. A new report could let us know about the glimpse of IOS 8.

Phonearena added a handful of images of Apples Inc. upcoming IOS 8. IOS 8 would be seemingly rolling over next six weeks.  Below are the low resolution images that shows the running f IOS 8 on Iphone 5s. The screenshot are from iphone and Ipad, new icons of apps which were rumored in past can be seen in this screen shot.

We can’t say that the images are fake, the icon of “Watch Utility” makes our curiosity more into IOS 8 updates. Other rumored apps were Healthbook, preview, text edit tips and more rumored apps. There is one icon that can be clearly seen is of iTunes radio in which Apple is trying to turn into a standalone app.

June 2, can be the birth-date of IOS 8. Meanwhile Apple is still fixing the bug and new release of 7.1.1. For the iPad, iPhone user still running IOS 6, apparently found Facetime outage since yesterday, my solution for this is to upgrade to IOS 7.1

Sneak peak of IOS 8 updates, news and rumors.

Just within a week of 7.1 update released by Apple Inc., rumours of IOS 8 to be released in June 2014 is what revelled as of now. The site 9to5Mac has information relating to features and changes of IOS rumors. It is also heard that IOS 8 will debut in iPhone 6. Apple fans are eager to have their hands on IOS 8 as IOS 8 has unthinkable features.

Both the rivals Samsung and Apple are concerned for the fitness app, hence IOS 8 has Healthbook that has similar interface as passboo

What would Healthbook do?

It would track the user steps taken; distance travelled by user, calories burned and also weight loss.

Other apps such as FitBit Force, makes sense as Apple has M7 motion co-processor into iPhone 5S so that those sort of things can be tracked. The App would track hydration levels, blood sugar, heart rate, respiratory rate taking a leap ahead of existing fitness tracker.

As per rumours iPhone 6 may have array of new sensors to track almost each and every detail of human body.

Apple Maps

Google maps are much better then Apple maps.  As per source 9 to 5 Mac updates would cover public transport directions for trains, buses and also subways would be added to maps. As of now only the source, 9ns can use this later other may follow. There is also more confirmation from the same source that accuracy would be amended and new labels would be added for stations and airports.

Appearance of the maps would also be improved to provide clear view of streets.

Siri

Siri is your own personal assistant, one of the prominent features by Apple Inc. as of now. According to the sources of a tech site siri can be compatible with third party apps. In future, apps can be compatible with Siri and developer can develop such kind of apps.

ITunes Radio

If words believed from sources 9 to 5 Mac, it is said that IOS 8 would have a separate app, because currently it’s part of music App. By this change the iTune radio would be more noticeable to user and can be used by other 3^rd party apps also.

Preview and text Edit.

The view of IOS 8 can be same as above in which we can see the icons are much similar to that of IOS 7 but there are some additional apps such as Text Edit in which PDF’s or any text files can be edited directly.  9 to 5 a source says that this is much confirmed information to be relying on. 

App Updates.

As per the gossips from unnamed sources there are minor updates to apps.  Notification centre is getting new look and would be reorganised for IOS 8.  The update would eliminate the “Missed” and “All” and “Today” tabs.

The Messaging app is also added with a new function so that user can user can automatically delete thread of messages after certain period of time.

Goodbye to Game centre

As many new things are welcomed with IOS 8 there many things which we need to wave off. As per the sources from 9 to 5 Mac Game centre app is rumoured to be blocked, because functionality is added in the games itself.
